Working with Us
The foundational relationship is the
minimum engagement of One Man Board. It provides three one-hour telephonic
conferences per month on any topic or topics the CEO selects. These
brainstorming, coaching, strategizing, educational sessions usually begin
with a short review of the prior couple of calls if there were open items,
get-backs, or follow-up matters to consider. Thereafter the CEO guides the
direction of the conversational flow.
The foundational relationship
provides for a reasonable number of short calls to deal with immediate
questions or issues.
The performance relationship involves a
professional from One Man Board who actually undertakes some or all of a
project deemed by the CEO to be one that, for reasons of resources,
experience, or time-criticality, is better done by going outside the
organization. A clear statement of work, deliverables, timeframe, and
investment is agreed up front.

Fee Structure
There is no fee associated with the
initial consultation (see below). Once agreed, an engagement letter is
signed to begin a formal relationship.
Fees for the foundational relationship
are comprised of professional fee of $500 billed at the beginning of each
month, plus an annual retainer of $2,500. The retainer is due at the
beginning of the third month when a client has developed a sense of the
values and benefits of the relationship. If that sense is lacking, the
relationship is ended at that point.
There is no long term
commitment; any One Man Board engagement can be terminated on 30 days prior
written notice.
Fees for performance work are billed at a rate of
$1,500 per day. Fixed cost engagements can be agreed if the scope is clear
and there is minimum risk of surprises.
In the event travel is required for any part of
either form of engagement, out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Getting Started
Both the CEO
and One Man Board need to be comfortable that the needs are understood and
the chemistry is right. Before accepting a client, One Man Board asks the
CEO to answer a few specific questions about the company, and where
available, to provide some things like a strategic plan, financial
statements, forecasts, organization chart, product or service descriptions,
and so on. If the information is not available, that is OK; the whole
purpose is to lay some groundwork and identify some areas to discuss.
Review this brief
profile because
it will be the starting point of an introductory discussion.
Upon receipt, a no-obligation 30-45
minute initial telephonic consultation is scheduled to provide a chance for
each party to evaluate the other and get a sense that the relationship
promises to be highly productive and satisfactory. Introductory conversation
is an important part; focusing on one or two specific issues
One Man Board automatically executes a
Non-Disclosure Agreement with the client as a part of the engagement
process.
